Unplugged days: Random notes

Finished 80% of the blog updates, looks decent now. Felt so much frustration but at the same time, have learned a lot. Again, everything happens for a reason. It’s probably time to give my blog a new look. Fresher. Brighter. More organized. Much like how I am feeling about myself.

Finally got the Internet back after S accidentally cut the cable with a shovel, and then Groot chewed it up. It had happened three times. Speechless!

Had lunch at Waffle House and left my credit card there. Went back but couldn’t find it and had to call the bank to cancel it. The first time ever! My memory is noticeably getting worse, especially after giving birth and undergoing back-to-back IVF anesthesia.

Went to a small thrift store and was impressed by how nicely the items are arranged. Unlike other ones, which look like mere storage for old, used items desperate for a new home, the place is decorated like a regular retail store. The items are displayed with care, making it feel as though they still have their own lives and value. Put a hold on a $20 framed mirror; we are picking it up this afternoon. Can’t wait to see how much it transforms the half-bathroom once it’s installed.

Went to a nearby grocery store and got chicken drumsticks for $.49/lb, 10 pieces of corn for $1, and peaches for $.80/lb. Never got those for such a cheap price.

Here are some of the dishes I’ve cooked over the past few days:

Tuesday, 7/7/2026 was such a beautiful day. At least, someone has taken action, and made a commitment. Of course, it’s easier said than done, there will surely be a lot of challenges ahead, but accepting the hard truth and dealing with it is always better than swiping it under the rug. Some of my fear, anxiety, and worry lifted off my shoulders…This feeling of lightness is just so amazing.
